Voting Alert: Empowering the People to Terminate Wolf’s Tyranny

Just over one year ago, Gov. Tom Wolf locked down Pennsylvania’s economy with the swipe of a pen resulting in what his Department of Labor & Industry has publicized as 500,000 permanent job losses.

Even more tragic, the majority of all COVID-19-related fatalities that have claimed nearly13,000 souls across this Commonwealth are directly connected to Wolf and his former health secretary’s unconscionable emergency order to admit infected COVID patients into Pennsylvania nursing homes and long-term care facilities.

In the upcoming May 18 primary election, all Pennsylvania voters will have the opportunity to weigh in on four important ballot questions, including two proposed constitutional amendments impacting future disaster declarations.

Please take a moment to learn more about these questions and make sure your voice is heard.

Questions 1 and 2: Emergency Disaster Declarations

The first two questions propose amendments to the state Constitution that would alter the way state leaders handle future disaster emergency declarations.

As the prime sponsor of an all-encompassing impeachment resolution to hold Tom Wolf fully accountable for his Orwellian abuse of emergency powers, I voted to put these questions on the ballot to empower citizens to restore our foundational system of checks and balances that has been unilaterally decimated by the governor throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Question 1 asks if the General Assembly, by majority vote, should be authorized to end a disaster emergency declaration without a governor’s approval.

Question 2 asks if a disaster emergency declaration should be limited to 21 days, unless a majority in the General Assembly votes to extend it.

Unfortunately, the language provided by the Wolf administration for these ballot questions on emergency declarations is purposely vague and intentionally misleading.

Above is a simple comparison graphic to help you further understand what your vote means.

Our Constitutional Republic still belongs to the people, and that’s why I strongly encourage all Pennsylvanians to take the time to vote on these important ballot questions.
