Some say that being "born again" is only for Israel, and not for the church, but man is made up of a trinity (body, soul, and spirit) just as God is a trinity (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit). With man, when he is born physically, he is born with a dead spirit, in the image of Adam (Genesis 5:1-3), so at the moment of salvation, when a person puts their faith and trust in Christ and his death, burial and resurrection, the Holy Spirit comes inside of them, performs a spiritual surgery, baptizes them into the body of Christ, and regenerates that dead spirit (quickens). That dead spirit is now alive (quick)(Ephes. 2:1). Now, that saved person is complete in Christ (Col. 2:10)
