It's been a long time since there have been any updates to CreationSocial as far as features and components go, so as a special Christmas gift for the CreationSocial community, I decided to make use of some Christmas money I got, and invest into some new features and components that have been added to the site.

First up is a new user points component.  If users go to their accounts, they will notice a golden dollar bill symbol underneath their account name, and a number next to it.  You earn points when you perform certain actions.  The points system goes as follows:

-5 points for making a post

-2 points for every like

-2 points for every comment you post

-10 points for uploading a picture

-2 points for sending a message to someone

Currently you cannot use those points to buy anything or gain anything, but that will change in the future when the OSSN developer community figures that one out.

Another new feature on CreationSocial is that you can now create and post in forums.  In order to access these forums, you simply go to the "links" tab in the sidebar, open it, and click on the "forums" option.

In the upper-right hand corner of every CreationSocial page, there is a new widget that allows you to change the language of the site to whatever language you prefer.  We also got a new email template so that every time you activate your account, reset your password, etc, you will now get an email with the CreationSocial header on it letting you know that you did these things.

One other thing we did is that we acquire version 6.1 of the OSSN script.  CreationSocial currently operates on version 5.5 of the OSSN script, and as a result, there are certain new components that we cannot access that we really need, such as a component that allows users to see the posts of every page they like show up in their newsfeed, and that allows users to see the posts of every group they're a member of in their newsfeed.  At some point in the future, we will upgrade CreationSocial to the 6.1 script, and we will be able at that time to add even more new features to the site.
