‘Good riddance’: DOGE cuts all funding to media outlets funded by USAID


White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced DOGE is planning to cut funding to POLITICO and other media outlets funded by USAID. Ms Leavitt during a White House press briefing said she can confirm more than “8 million taxpayer dollars” that have gone to POLITICO “will no longer be happening”. “We are going line by line when it comes to the federal government’s books … this president and his team are making decisions across the board on do these receipts serve the interest of the American people, is this a good use of the American taxpayer's money.” Her remarks come as the Department of Government Efficiency looks to dismantle the United States Agency for International Development. DOGE was founded by United States President Donald Trump to target waste and save money.
