The sciences were never designed to discredit scripture in the first place but were designed to gather as much knowledge as possible about God’s creation and the present workings of nature. Wherein the conflict arises is with those who insist that science can tell us about what happened in the past, which it cannot. It can ONLY tell us about the present.
